Yeh keen to get it out in the real stuff Troy Smile
Well i chucked "robot pig" on the treadmill Shocked and full speed is 4.3ks had it running full boar for a minute or so and the motor was hardly above room temperature Cool

Thats running 3000kv Scorpion motor on waterproof sidewinder esc on 2s lipos, Lnc diffs, Lnc transfer/gearbox, 50 spur, 20 pinion, 4.65" tyres. The idler gears also have a reduction too. Not sure what amount tho i should count the teeth Neutral . Probably overlooking something, but stoked how it runs bounce

Nah the losi idler doesnt do much, the internal gearbox is still 1:1.
The only reduction is the pinion/spur & the worms.

The RC calc puts your overall crawl ratio at: 62.5:1 so you can keep ya 20t pinion mate...thats LOOOOWWWWW! lol!

It also claims the top speed would be 7.81 km/h....just shows that the calc is a estimation only hey.

Weak link

Post  micks troll on Sun Jun 26, 2011 8:51 am

Well i found my weak link today after fitting the weighted 2.2s and the scorpion 3000kv motor Twisted Evil I am now chasing anyone that may have a good set of idler gears (gear in between spur and pinion) for a Losi night crawler or someone here possibly able to put me onto a supplier to buy a couple off asap
Cheers in advance Mick

I have since ordered the last 2 sets from LA parts in USA and some pinions. I was hoping that some one local or at least Australia based may have a set I could buy and have installed before next weekend (set is sold as the central transmission gear(idler) and spur gear together) any help muchly appreciated Cool

i think they do a metal gear set upgrade for them aswell as the plastic ones, but spares are always handy Laughing let us no how u wanna sort out getting them

it got me motivated & i found my axle tubes & pins from gunnar, thought i'd thrown them away Razz so will get the cvd pins replaced ready for the weekend still waiting on the diff gears and casings to come to do the tubes

yeh thought of possible upgrade of those gears but would rather them be the weak point as easy to get out and replace insread of diff etc

Mate i'm happy to fit em when we meet up out there!

Speeds now are 4.6k/hr on a 20 tooth and 5.3 k/hr on a 22 tooth on 2s 3300mah lipo. I have in my order coming a 22,24,26 tooth pinions but reckon she might get a bit warm bigger than the 22 as had a play at Az's today and motor was getting warm still could hold it to touch but getting warm, the diff were a bit warm also. All trial and plenty of error Twisted Evil

Cheers Ads for droppin of the gears too Cool

trial & error mick ,
what works for one set up might not work for another .
due to your particular truck so there is no way to set it up ,
besides try the different arrangements & yeah i know it sucks ive been there & done that affraid
