metal axle casings Empty metal axle casings

Well after only 6 months gentle abuse, where my metal straight axles & metal c hub carriers bolt to the axle casings, are starting to get flogged out & loose.
I was wandering if the metal casings, i think they are integy or 3racing? are any better in the way of strength? I know they will add weight but it i figure it will be low, even and not rotational(like wheel weights) & my truck weights a tonne already. maybe something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Integy-Complete-Alloy-Axle-Silver-AX10-SCX-10-WK-/390305836757?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5ae00a6ed5#ht_656wt_746
If they are any good is there are particular set that are better or worse Question or should i just get another set of plastic ones. I will be pulling my casings down to under drive the rear diff as well as clean, inspect & a regrease for both axle sets. So i wanna get my sh!t all together and sorted to get it done in one go.

The best ones to get are the ones with the drop out centers, which are 3racing i think.

Ally housings are a bit so so in general though Ads...The quality control his hit & miss big time.

Better off going for some inner axle tubes. Adds extra weight & strength where you need it, but you keep the plastic housings.
Nathan (bazuky) is getting some made up to sell. Not sure what his price will be, but they def will be cheaper than alloy housings.

with the axle tubes, does that strengthen where the grub screws bite into the casing? i think this is where she's sloppy(thats what she said) lol!
i might keep an eye out for the 3 racing ones, see how i go i might just end up getting some new plastic casings and see how nathan gets on with the axle tubes.

i got the same problems and it is far cheaper to buy extra spares of the original honcho diffs and swap them out for new ones when you want. when I have done a front one i send it to the rear diff and put a new one in the front and so on. I think a pair of them is only $15.

yeha the tubes go from the diff center bearing all the way to the outer axle bearings...it totally replaces the outer bearing stop and has 2 holes to run the screws into so they are into metal rather than plastic.

Nah Az, Jays ones stepped down where the screws go in so you didnt have to modify the plastic housings.

I've got them in the front of my 2.2 Pro, they work well but i've stripped the holes out for the C-hubs. Their only about 2-3mm thick and its not a real strong thread engagement and if you're a heavy handed person like me you strip the threads way easy.

Havent heard from Jay in ages...he's dropped off the radar again.

The ones above are the Jones'n RC/Gunnar ones from Rcc...The ones Nathans getting made up are pretty much the same with maybe a few design changes.
