What spekky radio were you looking at?

As for the esc is depends what you want to do.
If you want to stay brushed, go for a sidewinder or HH BRXL...Or if want to go back to brushless, you can use that old esc you had in it before with a new motor.

Hey Scott I was put on to the Sidewinder by Troy and i bought the waterproof one. Super stoked how it goes and the programing is great also. If you go this way you'll want to get the field card also and set up via computer the way Troy has mentioned before on the other chat! A little dear but reckon its worth it, my LNC one died Sad

Mate i got the Sidewinder esc and 3000kv scorpion motor from Tziworld (best service thus far). I noticed they have some 4ch radios with recievers for $89 not bad i thought, but best get Troys opinion on that one. At least you'll have options for winch control etc with it Very Happy

Spekky=Spektrum...what model radio are you looking at?

If its a complete new set-up...Do you want to stay brushed or go back to brushless.?

Thats the determining factor.

Yeh prob stay with brushed.......i see the sidewinder esc goes both ways brushed or brushless. But they don't seem to do brushed motors. I'll keep the Integy motor for the time been, just want a esc to suit (but a good one).
If i go brushless again later i'll use my venum esc.

Specy.....ok, are yeh whats the E or S after the model mean again?

If you're going for Brushed, go for a sidewinder or Holmes Hobbies BRXL. That motor should be fine for a long time as long as long as its looked after.

Spektrum surface has the: DX3e, DX3c, DX3s, DX3r & the DX3R Pro.... The Letters 'E' 'S' etc. allegedly stand for what it is. 'E' is entry level, 'C' Computer, 'S' Sport & 'R' for race.
I'd personally go for a DX3R (non pro) or the new DX3C. They've got 3pos 3rd channels so you can run winches, and enough adjustment to keep you amused for a while.

F*ck Nov-Krap. Go HH, Castle or Tekin (in that order)

99% of castle products run brushed or brushless, you just need to change the settings with castle link & the computer.....
I'm running sidewinders in everything but the slash.

Holmes stocks Castle & tekin escs as well. But he only makes one the BRXL (click).
Brushed only, decent internal bec, no motor limit, can handle up to 6s lipo input, and optional waterproofing from the factory....plus its fully adjustable through castle link, like a castle speedy.

Hope it helps man...

Just stick with you're 35t for the moment Scotty...There's nothing really wrong with it, so keep going till you flog it out.

If you really want a new motor go for a Crawlmaster Pro in a 16t like this one ....It will pick up some speed, but they have bullshit loads of torque & smoothness cause of the 5pole arm.

You shouldnt be disappointed with a BRXL...they are THE SH!T when it comes to a brushed speedy.

I've got the DX3r and I love it. It's got enough bells and whistles to do all 3 of my cars, but not so many features that it gets overwhelming. Also the exponential throttle curve in it really helps if your ESC doesn't have one built in.

The 3r has mixing as well as the 3 position switch so it can be used for rear steering if you have it. If I want to be a prankster, I mix the 3rd channel with throttle so if someone else tries to drive my car when they go forward the car turns left, when they go backwards it turns right Razz
