Re: whats the best brushed motor
You smoking motors is a mystery to me Azwa, i cant figure out how you keep doing it...
Got a few questions for ya to start with.
Have you checked the drive train for binding? The rig should roll pretty free with no motor in it.
What pinion & spur are you running?

no bind whatso ever even with the motor in she still rolls quite freely , 87t spur , 20t pinion
could it just be cheap motors geared to high ???

Yup, that's what it would be if there isn't any binding. Just over geared, putting too much load on the motor.
Thats the hardest thing about you wanting wheelspeed. Because you're stuck to a 2s limit becuase of the Nov-Krap, you're having to gear it up to speed out of it. And when you gear up you're also loosing torque so you're making everything work way harder.
Any decent rebuildable motor (Holmes Hobbies, Brood, Fantom, Tekin, HPI, Integy etc.) could be made work. Stick to the 27-35t range and drop the pinion down to a 17t or so to start with. See how that goes. Just stay away from silver cans and venom or tamiya motors.
Ideally get rid of the Nov-Krap and get a decent speedy that can run 3s. Then you'll get you wheel speed without having to overgear it.
What ever you do get, make sure you break it in (i'll be putting up a how-to in here within the next few days), look after it, don't overgear it and make sure your pinion/spur mesh isnt too tight.

Just to throw a spanner in the works I can't remember what my motor is but I think my pinion gear is 22? And stock spur and running on 2s still has good crawl and speed but not as good as when it's on 3s

Yours is a 35t HPI. Its a bit of a freak. It shouldn't run as well as it does with the gearing you've got, but it does...
Definitely a Wednesday motor...
