Making bar work

Post  BIGBOY on Wed Jul 25, 2012 12:45 pm

Hey guys I'm trying to make some sliders and a tray for the young fellas honcho but am having a hell of a time . I'm using 3/16 and 1/4 brake line pipe but it doesn't bend verry well I am using a borrowed pipe bender as I can't find anything out there .I am wondering if it's easier to make a template on the bench and bend it around that or is it better to use solid rod not pipe .

I got my tube bender from trade tools at springwood, cant remember how much it was.

Solid 3/16 rod is good to work with it don't need as much bracing as tube but it is heavier, I use it for bars and sliders but i would use tube if i was going to do a cage or tray, just because of the weight.
