ESC cooling fan Empty ESC cooling fan

with these esc's i keep reading that the fan needs to be upgraded if run on 3s lipo. what is the difference between the 2 fans? will running a bec eliminate the need for a new cooling fan?
i am gonna run the novak system in the losi cause i fried the standard esc in that, and run a new upgraded setup in the honcho affraid bounce

the stock fan is only rated to 9v or some shit. If you run 3s on the stock fan it'll eventually burn out (never had one do it though) with the upgraded fan its rated at 12v so it can handle 3s.

i use the 35a version of that speedy on 3s and dont run a fan. No issues thus far. The esc doesnt really get much above 40*c even when its 35* ambient and humid as all hell. As long as you run with the thermal protection on its not an issue.

ok cool, will just run the standard fan, if/when it dies will take it off, will definately have the thermal protection on. thanks again for your help guru troy haha

I run the 35a as well with no fan on it in the blitz and it gets a thrashing but is still working really good. Very Happy cheers

ok cool, so by the sounds of it i should be pretty safe runnin the 60amper. good to no, they seem to be quite good esc's in the way of bang for buck.

Yeah they are wicked bank-for-buck....ive got 3 in my crawlers, 2 in my slash's and i had one in the drifter as well...lol
