The SCX10 Mog - Pics heavy...
Ok so i finally finished the Mog.
This thing was my 2nd attempt at braising (first was the bumper for my honcho), so be gentle
I dont do things the easy way, so it was a massively ambitious project for me.
The cage is made of a mixture of 3/16 brakeline/bundy tube, flat brass strip and stainless steel sheet (90% of which i had lying around the shed), all braised together unknown brand braising rods (they were in the shed, fawks me where they came from, and the old man doesnt remember either) and a Oxy.
Thats right folks, not MAPP gas, or a little braising torch, i did the thing with the full size Oxy...needless to say i blew a few holes in the bundy tube and melted more than a few bits of brass strip before i was done.

Freshly painted, plus flat clear
Cab mocked up on fully braised and painted tray
Spare in tray

funny part is i was posting them, when you asked for pics...
More pics running in the front yard & garden.
Took it for a run on the rock pile, crawls like a sum-bitch...i've got no weight in the wheels at all, but she pulls like a champ. Just way top heavy..
Thinking of puting about 75-100g in the fronts and half in the rear..should go alright then..
pushing through the Mondo rass
Bit of wheel porn
Rear flex
Ignore the shitty tray sheeting
Last one:
So whats the verdict...? Gimme feedback, opinions etc...

UPDATES!!!!
Did a bit of an upgrade today, all the talk of the Mog being the recovery rig made me decide to give it a winch.
Only one issue, due to body and the lack of room for a 3 ravcing winch, i had to do a rethink.
Ended up doing a servo winch, but a full size servo wouldnt fit in the room i had to work with, digging through my spare i found a low-profile servo from a touring car, metal geared with 8kg of torque, it would be sweet.
Did it a bit differently though, i took the control board out of the servo and replaced the pot with a 5K carbon film one. Holds its adjustment better and doesnt take up as much room on the board as the stock Pot.
onto the pics:
servo & sewing bobbin spool. Theres about 4meters of braided fishing line on there
Control board with upgraded pot:
King Kong hook...oh yeah:afro:
3 racing winch fairlead, mounted upside down
Just fits, about 3mm of room between the end of the spool and the steering servo
Panhard bar just clears at full bump
all done...who needs a winch out?

Dont worry Brett. Already thought about the portals....
I'd have to re-gear overall if i bought them, which wouldnt be an issue. What i would be worried about is the extra height.
The CG sucks balls as is, never mind with portals.
How much do the 3 racing raise the diff clearance by Brett?
