the 40 is coming along nicely mate top work. that bar work is a grade for mine mate. very well thought out, tough but not excessive
i rekon if you leave the bonnet sittin flush and manage a bonnet scoop, for all them big 40's runnin 308's and 350's that would look wicked mate. im not sure on the logistics of it all but just my 2bob

yeah i found some lexan for a scoop & had just enough paint left & have mounted it onto bonnet
the heat fins from the esc poke up into the hole & is visible thru the scoop
as far as bonnet lift goes i'll put up some pics 2 show what i mean.

the interior is done other than attaching the steering wheel & gear sticks ,
under dash the battery & esc mount is 50 % done ,
the fins from the esc can be seen thru the scoop & if i've got room i'll put a cooling fan on top of it.
takin my time so she looks the goods for the 4x4 show , but geez am i itchin to beat the #### out of this thing .
any comments would be appreciated if theres somethin that i've over looked let me know .

Its a Steve Irwin/croc hunter toy...they're hard to find and usually go for decent $$$

Re: 1.9 tubed 40
the 40 looks sweet. the fins through the bonnet scoop is cool, not sure if the split tube for the esc wiring is supposed to look like an intake hose but thats what i saw when a first skimmed the picture
might have to pull my finger out and get the honcho over for some bar work soon so ur too busy to drive(destroy) the 40 before the 4x4 show.
that croc hunter cruiser is wicked

Re: 1.9 tubed 40
allright update time ,
the 40's g/box to t/fer angle is to extreme due to the adapter i made
so that will be gettin reworked to alleviate the lumpy cam 350 chev style drivetrain
then its on to painting the u/bonnet area.
then arches & u/neath to finish it off
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cheers azwa.

Re: 1.9 tubed 40
allright guys update time ,
put the 9t b/less ezyrun (loan from ads)to see how she'd go
didnt bother hookin up the axles ,
give her a good rev & disinegrated the shaft between g/box & t/case.
need to rectify the prob so...
t/case mount i have cut & reconfigured to give a better angle for the shaft from the gearbox .
i took micks ezyrun off his hands last night & it hasnt got the wheelspeed i was looking for ,
the 9t although a huge amount of wheel speed & torque i loved ,
i was thinking the 32 wouldnt be this much slower
so any gurus (wmw) could tell me if the 3s would give her a boot in haggetts im lookin for ?
& if its recommendable as im grabbin this combo from ads i might use the 60A speedy
if theres benifits

Re: 1.9 tubed 40
Yeah the 32t/1200kv hobbywing motor is about the same speed as a 45t brushed. Putting it on 3s would wake it up. You can get away with the 35a speedy on 3s as well.
Thats all i ran until i converted my stuff to brushed to get better low end.
Funny you said torque about the 9t Az...cause they've got none... All the hobbywing motors with the finned can are actually a 380 sized motor with a big heat sink to make them look 540 sized...Fine at high RPM, but shite down low.

seemed to be a better combo in the 40 but just going 11.1v on the 32t

Thats the best thing about adding volts Az. You gain power, torque etc. But dont actually loose anything.

This is the calculator is use: http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/top_speed.html
Working on a 7.4:1 HPI GRU, your overall crawl ratio is: 56.24 : 1
With a 1200kv motor (32t hobbywing), 2S lipo speed would be approx: 3.17km /h compared to 3s lipo: 4.75km/h
A difference that you will notice. But you also pick up motor torque as well which is harder to pick.

what speed would i be getting out of my rooster crawler & 35t brushed cheap can from rc4wd
30 % increase from 3s im keen as
what do you think of these batts ??
Capacity: 1500mAh
Continuous discharge rate: 20C
Brust Rate 25C
3 Cells
Voltage: 11.1v
Size: 69mmX34mmX23mm (+-3mm)
Weight 102g (+-3g)
the reason i need the smaller cases is i mount em under the bonnet
what sort of run time should i expect & do you think theres an advantage with the 60A speedy
or is the 35A up to the task ??
cheers mate

On 7.4v (rooster is only rated to that) top speed: 4.13 km/hazwa wrote:what speed would i be getting out of my rooster crawler & 35t brushed cheap can from rc4wd
The batts are fine, but i personally would look for some 25c constant discharge ones.

Run time is very dependent on set up. I cant really give you a number but general crawling around with some light full throttle foolery i'd guess at a minimum of 30-45mins.
The 35a speedies should be fine, thats all i ran in my crawlers and still run in my slash.

5c....
Nah the higher the 'c' rating the more amps the battery puts out. It also makes its discharge more stable, which means that run times are slightly longer as the battery isnt working as hard to give the amps you're asking it for.
